The People Behind Tidal Memories
Our ceremonies are thoughtfully crafted by Shae Burnette, who brings years of experience creating meaningful rituals. Skipper Moe Gevirtz and his crew set sail on Yakamoz nearly every week to bid farewell to our non-human companions at the Golden Gate.

The Yakamoz Story
Sailing Vessel Yakamoz
is a 36-foot 1978 'Columbia 10.7' --a sailboat that moves by wind power, rarely burning fuel.
She was rescued from the in 2018, and painstakingly brought back to sail the seas by Moe Gevirtz and a community of dedicated sailors.
Yakamoz means "Sea Shine" In Turkish. Sea-shine is caused by bioluminescent creatures that glow when the waves crash.
Our Mission & Community
More Than Just a Service: Supporting Our Community.
Tidal Memories not only allows us to provide a meaningful service but also helps sustain our sailing group, fund our whale listening projects, and maintain Yakamoz for future nature discovery missions. This makes our sailing self-sustaining and provides operational flexibility. Feel free to email us if you'd like to learn more.
